The Department of Ethnic Studies at the University of San Diego invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track or tenured professor of Ethnic Studies beginning in Fall 2017. Qualified candidates must hold a PhD or terminal degree in Ethnic Studies or a related field and have expertise in American Indian Studies and Comparative Ethnic Studies. Specific areas of research are open; however, we are especially interested in work that addresses health, environmental justice, and/or decolonization. Applicants must have an active research agenda and be able to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in American Indian Studies and Comparative Ethnic Studies; an ability to teach Introduction to Ethnic Studies is required. Demonstrated experience working with American Indian tribes and communities is strongly preferred.
